Bear Mary († 2020)
Calm and kind bear
With her daugthers to the rescue center
IIn 2013, Mary was brought to our BEAR SANCTUARY, together with her two daugthers Sonja (1992-2014) and Clara. All three were living at the german zoo Tiergarten Mönchengladbach before. Sonja unfortunately died in 2014. Since then, Mary and Clara were sharing an enclosure. Mother and daughter obviously had some arguments from time to time, but they usually got along with each other quite well.
In June 2019, the two bear ladies were socialized with Sindi. All three bears then lived together in one big enclosure.
Mary verputzte gerne frisches Obst und Gemüse.
Curious bear lady
Mary was a very kind bear who loved to go for a swim and was also very curious. Her favourite treats were grapes and honey. Just like her daughter Clara, Mary had brighter fur in summer that gets darker in winter.
