No matter the season, there is always a lot to discover and marvel at at the BEAR SANCTUARY Müritz. What is hibernation? What do our bears eat in spring, and how do they put on weight in fall? What is Roccos' favourite activity and why does Michal only have three legs?
We invite you to join one of our selected guided tours and take a look behind the scenes to learn interesting facts about our bears and the bear sanctuary.

Our Guided Tours
On our guided tours through the BEAR SANCTUARY Müritz, our experts will provide you with lots of information about bears.
STANDARD TOUR - Out and about with our bear experts
Join us for a walk through our sanctuary as we share the stories of our bears. Many of the bears we've rescued have endured difficult experiences in their past. On our circular trail, you will have the opportunity to observe the bears engaging in their natural behaviours, such as bathing, foraging for food, taking midday naps under the trees, or digging cosy hollows to rest in.

EXCLUSIVE TOUR - For bear lovers and explorers
Have you ever wanted to see what happens behind closed doors at BEAR SANCTUARY Müritz? Now is your chance—join us for an exclusive tour and learn about our bear sanctuary uniquely.
Includes coffee and cake from the organic bistro and a little surprise!

WINTER TOUR - Learn about bears' hibernation
Nothing happens in winter? Not at all! At BEAR SANCTUARY Müritz, some bears have gone into hibernation, but there is still plenty of exciting news to share. The topic of bear hibernation is utterly fascinating. Why do bears hibernate instead of deep winter sleep? Why do they need to rest at all? How do they manage to survive for weeks and months without eating or drinking? And why do some bears remain active even during the winter?

- Price per adult: €15.00 (admission fee, guided tour, tea included)
- Price per child: €13.00 (admission fee, guided tour, tea included)
- Duration: approx. 1.5 to 2 hours
- Dates & start times: November to March, daily at 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
- Number of participants: 1 to 15 people
The winter tour is the only tour where you join a group and must be booked 72 hours in advance.

GUIDED DOG WALKING TOUR - Experience for humans and dogs
The focus of this tour is on how dogs and bears interact, proper behaviour with your dog in the park, and other fascinating aspects of our furry friends.
Join dog trainer Steffi Winter for a two-hour guided walk in the park, where she will share a wealth of interesting information about dog behaviour and training.

EXPERIENCE: Bear volunteer
Experience a day behind the scenes at BEAR SANCTUARY Müritz, where you can learn about the work of our animal caretakers. Our volunteers will guide you into the fascinating world of bears.
Get ready for a day filled with exciting insights into our daily operations, including preparing bear snacks, creating toys, and much more!

- Duration: approx. 4 hours, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

EXPERIENCE: A day as an animal caretaker
If you've always dreamed of becoming an animal caretaker, here's your opportunity to get up close and personal with our bears. Join us for an exclusive guided tour where you'll gain in-depth insights into their lives. Together, we will prepare food for the bears and feed them. If time allows, you may also have the chance to help create enrichment toys for the bears to play with.
