Winter tour

Winter wonderland, hibernation and bears

Nothing going on in winter? Think again!

A few bears have gone into hibernation here at the BEAR SANCTUARY Müritz, but that doesn't mean that there aren't exciting things to report. The hibernation of bears is a topic that couldn't be more interesting. Why are they even hibernating? How does this work, if the bears do not eat or drink anything for weeks or months? Why do some bears not hibernate at the BEAR SANCTUARY despite the winter time?

On the winter tours, which take place daily from November 1st to February 28th 2023 at 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., visitors can find out more about the bears’ hibernation.

Visitors can learn more about our bears, their winter habits and much more from our bear experts. And if it should get really cold, that's no problem: On the winter tour through our sanctuary, guests can warm themselves with hot tea, which is served on the way.
